Remembering Bob Devito and Paul Musaracchia

August 27, 2016

WSOAE mourns the loss of two beloved artists who have been in the show for several decades.

PaulMusaracchia

Paul Musaracchia was an ingenious metal sculptor who exhibited with the WSOAE for more than 50 years winning numerous awards throughout his career.

Musarracchia died on April 20, 2016 leaving an endowment with WSOAE to award sculptors for their creativity. His art is currently on display at the Brooklyn Historical Society. “Paul had many friends at the WSOAE and will be missed,” said John DiBiase, WSOAE executive director.

WSOAE also mourns the passing of mixed media Artist Bob Devito who began exhibiting with us in 1995. Devito passed away in May of this year. Devito was a New York artist and muralist. He is credited with the creation of a large mural bracing the SAS Terminal at JFK Airport, a painting on the 39th floor of the Empire State Building and several other works that were in several galleries in SoHo and Madison Avenue. Devito has won more than 80 awards for his work nationwide. He was a long-time exhibiting artist at the WSOAE.

Bob Devito’s wood impression of a street facade, The Old Neighborhood won first place in WSOAE’s Mixed Media Category in 2014.
