Ben Georgia’s “City Lights III”

BEN GEORGIA, a thirty-year veteran of WSOAE shows and one of our outstanding abstract artists, is currently being honored with a solo exhibition at Rutgers University’s Paul Robeson Galleries, the Orbit II Gallery. The show, entitled “Primary Essences,” continues through June 4th and is free to the public. The gallery is open Monday through Thursday, 10 am to 5 pm.

One of the highlights of the show (see image above) is “City Lights III”, a 2009  oil on canvas, 48” x 60”.  The program contains the following recap of the artist’s work: “For painter Ben Georgia, abstraction offers the possibility of a fresh mode of communication. Georgia seeks a language that surpasses representation and the fleeting concerns of the moment, reaching towards expressing the emotional depths of human experience.”

Mr. Georgia will be exhibiting at the WSOAE Spring Show, beginning Memorial Day Weekend, May 25th.
